FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Jeep dealership backs local military tribute

A tribute to America's Fighting men and women, past and present, will kick off right here at Houston's Northwest Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram dealership on May 6, 2011 from 7am to 9:30am, just in time for Memorial Day.

The dealership will host breakfast, live music and present a Customized Jeep Wrangler.  The Jeep Wrangler is covered in a custom vinyl wrap depicting the American Flag.  The Jeep has been done to honor an organization called Crossing of America.  This year, Jeep is the national sponsor of the Crossing of America, donating two Jeeps that will be driven 12,700 miles each, by America's most patriotic celebrities in the Spirit of Liberty/Crossing of America event this summer.

At 9:30 am, The "Liberty Jeep" and a convoy of other Jeeps will leave the dealership in a procession consisting of veterans, Jeep owners, and offroad enthusiasts.  They will join other offroad enthusiast at one of Texas' premier offroad parks, Hidden Falls Adventure Park, located in Marble Falls, Texas for The 3rd Annual Wheelers for the Wounded Event.  The event offers a weekend of offroading and activities for wounded soldiers and their families, a much needed relief from rehabilitation.

General Manager of the dealership, Jim Hatfield, is having his own Jeep Wrangler customized in support of the events, Crossing of America and Wheelers for the Wounded.

"What started out as a small event, to send off and support Houston area Jeep owners, has exploded into a huge event that our military men and women deserve, a Wheelers for the Wounded weekend.  This send off is just the beginning of a great weekend for them." said Hatfield

Local military and Color Guard will be honored by former congressman Nick Lampson, and other local celebrities, as well as the Vice President of The Spirit of Liberty/Crossing of America event, Monya Magilton, along with Gale Muskiet, president and executive director of Mothers of Military Serving and Paula Alessi and Cheryl Whitfield of National Memorial Ladies. The proceeds from the sale of "Liberty Jeep" after the Crossing of America, will go to these veteran support groups.

We have added two outstanding organizations that will be participating in our event on May 6th.

Mothers of Militay Serving USA (MoMs USA)

The National Memorial Ladies.

MoMs USA is a Texas Non-Profit Organization representing a group of mothers and other family members and friends whose common bond is having or had family members serving in the US Military. They volunteer time and effort to assemble and mail care packages throughout the year to all branches of the US Military. They also send Psalm 91 Bandanas that are worn under soldier's helmets during engagements ? (thousands have been sent), birthday cards and letters, "neck coolers", and "neck warmers" You can learn more about MoM USA here at http://www.momsofusa.com/

The National Memorial Ladies is a volunteer service formed at the Houston National Cemetery. They attend all burials at the cemetery to honor our soldiers who have fought for our freedom.
The Memorial Ladies are there to make sure that no soldier is buried alone, and give a condolence card to the families and affirm that they are there to give honor to their loved one who gave military service to our country.

The Memorial Lady is a part of the ceremony. Along with the Chaplain and Honor Guard, she attends the burial with silent vigil.

You can find out more about this organization on their website http://www.nationalmemorialladies.com/
We are honored that these two fine organizations will participate in our event Friday May 6th. We sincerely  hope to see you there.

Wheelers for the Wounded is an organization with the primary mission of providing a weekend of off-roading, camping, and in some cases fishing, to our country's wounded military members all over the United States. This is the third year they have put together this event and it just keeps getting better.
